2011
It’s been a busy year at Sealstrip, developing new opportunities and bringing on many new customers. We’re excited to launch our new website. At PackExpo2011, we’ll exhibit Freezer Peel&Seal on a frozen food bag featuring surface printed Polyethylene packaging film running on a Bosch VFFS in our booth. In the Ilapack booth we’ll be running the new FreshPak applicator on an Ilapack flow-wrapper configured for the tortilla and flat bread market. In the PFM booth we’ll be running FreshPak on a PFM flow-wrapper packaging trayed cookies. In the Bosch booth a quad seal CFFS bag will include the Peel&Seal reclosable system.
2010
We enjoyed our best PackExpo in our history. In our booth we exhibited the new FreshPak applicator on an Ilapak Carrera 500 PC, Peel&Seal for frozen food on a Hayssen Ultima, and Peel&Seal for candy on Triangle’s new X series. In the Sealed Air booth a Shrinktape easy open unit was run on a Shanklin shrink-wrapper and Peel&Seal was featured on a Hayssen Ultima in the Hayssen booth.
2009
After extensive renovations to the building at 103 Industrial Drive, Sealstrip consolidates at the new location. An Open House is held for vendors, customers, and employees and their families.
2008
Sealstrip’s Equipment Group relocates to 103 Industrial Drive, Gilbertsville.
Sealstrip develops and launches FreshPak, an easy open, and resealable system with tamper evidence. These new systems were installed in Australia and Europe.
2007
Heather Chandler is named President of Sealstrip Corporation. With Sealstrip for more than 15 years, her Sealstrip experience began in Customer Service, progressing to Sales, Sales Management, and last served as General Manager for three years.
Sealstrip installs our first applicators in China. On our largest install to date, Sealstrip personnel install 87 applicators in 5 plants in one weekend.
2006
Sealstrip develops OpenEasy, an easy open system for Cryovac BDF film. The system maintains the packaging films barrier properties, and complies with both FDA and EU regulations. Peel&Seal a resealable system for VFFS is introduced to the US market and is as quickly accepted as the easiest system for both consumers and CPG operations.
2005
Sealstrip continues to develop innovative easy open and resealable packaging features for flexible packaging. New convenience features introduced in 2005: Peelwrap Shorti and Peel&Seal®.
2004
Our Shrinktape®, Peelwrap™, Teartape, and Sealstrip® product lines continue to provide consumers with convenient packaging features. Custom solutions developed for the paper industry (EZ Teartape) and food service.
2002
Tearstrip Systems and Sealstrip Corporation merge and have since been providing customers with easy open and reclosable packaging features as Sealstrip Corporation.
2001
Licensed the patented Easy Snap reclosable system to SIG Group.
2000
Awarded the WORLDSTAR for packaging excellence for Kellogg Company’s Snak-Stix Bar Resealable Pouch.
1999
Awarded the Mobil Golden Mummy Award for Excellence in Flexible Packaging for “Pop-Tarts Snak-Stix” and “Bag Bath”. Received a Certificate of Appreciation for being a key partner in the packaging innovation strategy of Kellogg.
1997
Keebler introduces the Vienna Fingers package with a Sealstrip easy open and reclosable feature.
1995
Peelwrap easy open system for shrink is developed for Wrigley Canada.
1994
Sealstrip invents custom packages for Sara Lee coffee cakes and Kraft Boboli. Kraft introduces Boboli pizza twin-packs featuring Sealstrip’s FreshPak™ pressure-sensitive tape reseal. FreshPak, a custom convenience system developed especially for Boboli, provided a reseal feature without the expense of a zipper system.
1993
The “Baking & Snack Package of the Month” is awarded to Azteca, who incorporated a Sealstrip resealable package feature to their tortilla product line.
1990
The “Food & Drug Package of the Year” Award is presented to Sealstrip Corporation for Excellence in Packaging for Aunt Jemima resealable waffle bag. Tearstrip Systems Incorporated and Sealstrip Corporation relocate to Boyertown, Pennsylvania.
1989
The Sealstrip resealable package for Aunt Jemima Home-style Waffles is introduced to the market.
1979
Sealstrip resealable package developed for Steak Umm. Steak Umm becomes the first frozen meat plant with an in-line reclosable package system. Sealstrip Corporation is formed.
1974
Shrinktape, pressure sensitive teartape, is developed for 3M and DuPont.
1967
Tearstrip Systems Incorporated…making packaging easier since 1967 with the invention of Shrink String, the first easy open system for shrink packaging, for Becton Dickinson and Corning.
1959
Formatron Company builds its first custom shrink wrap equipment.
