Sealstrip’s Improved Freezer Grade Resealable

July 1, 2009

Sealstrip Corporation has introduced a new and improved, low temperature stable, resealable tape for their Peel&Seal® feature. Peel&Seal is a pressure-sensitive resealable tape with a dry area in the linear direction that is applied to the film in the direction of package flow when manufactured. The consumer opens the bag at the end seal, uses product, peels back the Peel&Seal, rolls down the end, and extends the Peel&Seal tape over the end of the roll and sticks it to the other side of the package. In the consumer’s freezer, the compacted package uses space more effectively. Peel&Seal has always been used in freezer applications like Pillsbury Frozen Biscuits and Rosina Frozen Meatballs. The feature was always compatible with low temperature and light condensation. The new material provides even better reseal for very dense products that remain frozen even after being removed from the freezer for a long period of time. The material is also more effective with IQF products. Additionally, the new Peel&Seal tape performs better on thawing packages that may have condensation built up on the outside of the bag, while the product maintains a cold sealing surface on the inside. The improved material also resists popping open due to pressure of a package that has been tightly reclosed, is sitting in a very cold freezer, the surface has condensation and is refreezing. Overall, the new and improved material makes Peel&Seal a perfect choice for creating a resealable package for a frozen product produced on a VFFS wrapper.
