Sealstrip Corporation now certified Women's Business Enterprise

Sealstrip Corporation is now a certified Women’s Business Enterprise! The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certifies businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women. The business “must be at least fifty-one percent owned and controlled by one or more women and whose management and daily operation is controlled by one or more of the women owners” (WBENC).

Sealstrip Corporation provides flexible packagers with the resealable and easy open packaging solutions that are essential to compete in today’s consumer market. The company designs and manufactures applicators that retrofit to customers’ existing wrapping machinery. Sealstrip also manufactures the pressure-sensitive tapes used to form the easy open and resealable features on flexible packages.

Sealstrip Corporation is led by President Heather Chandler. “We are very excited about our certification.  The process was challenging, but sound and robust, ensuring the certification is not sought for by those not truly qualified.  We’re looking to helping our customers and prospects fulfill their diversity goals.” Heather has been EVP, General Manager, Sales Manager, and Project coordinator since joining Sealstrip in 1992.  She contributes to the marketing team, as well as plays an active role in sales, having spent much of her 23 years with the organization in customer facing roles.

Also part of the executive team are Administrative Manager Rachel Conrad and Director of Product Development and former President Jo Anne Forman. Rachel oversees the human resources and accounting departments. Although her bachelor’s degree is in human resources, she also has an associate’s degree in art and plays a key role in the creation of custom samples that showcase Sealstrip products. Jo Anne’s specialty is package development and design, and understanding consumer markets. In addition to her role on the Sealstrip Management Team in product development and marketing she speaks at industry conferences and serves as one of Sealstrip’s subject matter experts in new application evaluation and in consulting on package design.
