Machine Shop Helper - Full Time

Description:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager thru the Shop Supervisor; operating machines that perform a variety of processing operations and assemble finished products.  A machine shop helper is familiar with and can perform a variety of light duty procedures in the machine shop. Must be open and willing to performing a variety of tasks on a daily basis.   

Responsibilities:

• Receive raw metal
• Cut metal/Stage Job Order’s
• Perform minor machining work as assigned
• Prep parts for finishing – Polishing/Glass Bead
• Paint parts with spray paint
• Assemble parts from assembly drawings
• Assist in building maintenance
• Fabricate crates and boxes and prepare machines for shipping
• As needed Shipping and Receiving
• Keep work areas clean and tidy to prevent safety hazards
• Additional in-house duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills
• Able to use a computer
• Able to lift up to fifty pounds
• Able to use the following machinery: belt sander, band saw, disk sander, glass beader, hand tools, and measuring equipment
• Able to understand or willing to learn to read machine drawings
• At least one-year experience in a machine or tool maker shop
